Melisa was born in Istanbul. In the early years of high school, she discovered kemane (kamancha) and began developing herself on the instrument. After completing her high school education, She started undergraduate studies in 2014, progressing to the state Conservatory of Turkish Music in Istanbul Technical University (ITU). She won first prize in the "kamancha" category in the 'Teke Region of Folk Instruments Competition, 2016.
Melisa participated in Nazim Cinar's theatre orchestral musical 'Gelin Tanis Olalim' ın 2017. She graduated from University (ITU) with first class honours in 2018. She took part in the orchestra of the Iranian Sufi artist Davood Azad, Turquazz Anatolian Jazz Festival with group ‘Origin’ in UK and also worked on orchestral concerts with the "Turkmen Project" composed by Feryal Oney in Turkey.
She participated in the 'Making Tracks' project as a performer in October 2019, in which they had a musical tour all around the UK, including cities of Cambridge, Oxford, Milton Keynes, Edinburg, York, Sheffield, Lincoln, Bristol, Norwich, London. She represented her instrument and culture in the Making Tracks project throughout around the UK, where she presented concert as well as performance-oriented workshop in schools. She took part in Aler Kamancha online international festival, in 2020. She participated in the Wow Women of the World Festival 2021 with a solo performance in collaboration with Sabancı Foundation and British Council and accompanied Yazz Ahmed Quartet at this festival.
In 2021, she opened the concert of Womex Award-winning artist Aynur Doğan at the EFG London Jazz Festival at Barbican Centre with a solo kamancha performance.
In 2022, she participated musical residency program OneBeat 9, in Atlantic Centre for Arts in New Smyrna Beach, Florida and fully supported by the U.S Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
Melisa is continuing her music between Istanbul and London, working with various professional artists.
She released her first percussive composition, 'Dreamer', in 2017.
In 2021, she released a duo album 'Taluş' with fretless guitar.
